Duomo - Milan
We visited Duomo-marbles facade bristling with 135 pinnaclesand over 2000 statue, the Galleria and the world famous La Scala Opera House in Milan.
We visited the Juliet's Balcony from Shakspeare's Romeo & Juliet. Also saw the 2000 years old Roman Arena which is still in use today.
Venice
Venice is the romantic city of Italy. We taken the private water taxi to the island. Taken the gondola ride. Walk to St. Mark's Square where we see the Doge's Palace, connected to the Prisons by Bridges of Sighs. Around the corner, we admire the mosaics of the Basilica and then watched one of the few remaining Masters blow molten glass into a unique creation at Venetian glass blowing factory.
We visited the famous leaning tower, where elaborate steps have been taken to prevent this landmark falling over! Also saw the beautiful white marble cathedral and Baptistery in Pisa.
Florence
In Florence, we visited Pizzaale Michelangelo. We also saw the famous piece of art - David. Then we walked to the multicolored marble Cathedral of Santa Maria dei Fiore, where we see the Giotto's belltower, and 'Doors of Paradise'. Lastly we visited the Piazza della Signoria, still the political heart of Florence.
Vatican City
Vatican City is the world smallest country. We visited the St. Peter's Basilica. The population only about 1000+.
Colloseum - Rome
Rome is the ancient city. We saw Bernini's 'Popes' Altar sited above the spot where St Peter is reputed to have been crucified. We stop at Forum to view the Colosseum. We stroll along via Veneto, Spaish Steps and Trevi Fountain.
The trip ended with joy and good memory. We also met new friends during the tour. We reach KL on 1st Nov 2007 at noon.
